vivo V80 Lite 5G Review: Big Battery, Curved AMOLED and a Price That Needs a Closer Look

The vivo V80 Lite 5G is one of those phones that looks more expensive than it actually is. It has a curved AMOLED display, a huge 7,050mAh battery, a Sony main camera and IP68/IP69 protection.

But then you see the price.

In Pakistan, the V80 Lite 5G starts at Rs. 124,999 for 8GB/128GB, while the 8GB/256GB version costs Rs. 145,999.

So the real question isn’t whether this phone has good specs. It does.

The question is whether those specs justify the price.

vivo V80 Lite 5G: Quick Verdict

The good: excellent battery capacity, attractive curved AMOLED screen, IP68/IP69 protection, capable Dimensity 7360-Turbo chip and a 50MP Sony main camera.

The bad: only 8GB RAM, no NFC in the Pakistan model, USB 2.0, no expandable storage and a secondary 2MP camera that feels like filler at this price.

My take? The V80 Lite 5G is a strong everyday phone, but it’s not an obvious value champion. The battery and display are its biggest selling points.

vivo V80 Lite 5G Price in Pakistan

Here is the official Pakistan pricing:

    VariantPrice in Pakistan
    8GB + 128GBRs. 124,999
    8GB + 256GBRs. 145,999

vivo lists both configurations officially in Pakistan.

At this price, you’re no longer shopping in the basic mid-range category. You’re looking at phones where camera quality, chipset performance, charging and storage speeds all matter.

That makes some of the V80 Lite’s compromises more noticeable.

Design: Slim, Curved and Surprisingly Comfortable

The V80 Lite 5G follows vivo’s familiar approach: make the phone feel premium in your hand before you even turn the screen on.

It uses a 3D dual-curved display and a slim body. The Sapphire Blue version measures 7.99mm thick and weighs 197g, while the Silk White model is 8.10mm and 199g.That’s impressive considering the battery inside.

The curved edges also make the phone feel narrower than its actual size. If you spend hours scrolling TikTok, Instagram or YouTube, that curved frame is genuinely pleasant to hold.

    There is one catch.

This is a large phone. The 6.83-inch display isn’t going to disappear in your pocket, and people with smaller hands may still need two hands for certain tasks.

The back uses a plastic composite material, rather than glass. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. It helps keep the weight down and should be less stressful if you accidentally drop it.

The 6.83-inch AMOLED Display Is One of the Highlights

This is probably my favorite part of the V80 Lite 5G.

You get a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 2,000 nits HBM brightness and a claimed 3,000-nit local peak brightness.

    The numbers are strong.

    Display specificationvivo V80 Lite 5G
    PanelAMOLED / POLED
    Size6.83 inches
    Resolution2800 × 1260
    Refresh rate120Hz
    Pixel density449 PPI
    HBM brightness2,000 nits
    Peak brightnessUp to 3,000 nits
    Color gamutP3

The 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling feel much smoother than a standard 60Hz panel.

And the 1.5K resolution is a nice middle ground. Text looks sharp, photos have plenty of detail and video looks excellent without pushing the hardware as hard as a QHD panel would.

For watching Netflix, YouTube and social media, this screen is one of the phone’s strongest arguments.

Performance: Dimensity 7360-Turbo Is Built for Everyday Use

Under the hood is MediaTek’s Dimensity 7360-Turbo, manufactured on a 4nm process.

It has an eight-core CPU with four performance cores clocked up to 2.5GHz and four efficiency cores at up to 2.0GHz. vivo claims an AnTuTu score around 970,000 under its testing conditions.

In normal use, this should be more than enough.

Apps open quickly. Switching between social apps, Chrome and messaging apps shouldn’t be a problem. The 120Hz display also helps make the phone feel faster.

Gaming is where expectations need to stay realistic.

vivo says the phone can maintain 90fps in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang for up to three hours under its test conditions.

That’s encouraging, but I wouldn’t buy this phone expecting flagship-level gaming performance.

    This is a performance-focused mid-range chip, not a Snapdragon 8-series replacement.

8GB RAM Is Fine. The Storage Choices Are Less Exciting.

The V80 Lite 5G comes with:

    • 8GB RAM
    • 128GB or 256GB storage
    • LPDDR4X RAM
    • UFS 3.1 storage
    • Up to 8GB of software-based Extended RAM

There is no microSD card slot, so choose your storage carefully. Vivo

I’d personally pick the 256GB model if you plan to keep the phone for several years.

The problem is the price difference.

You’re paying another Rs. 21,000 to move from 128GB to 256GB. That’s a big jump.

Camera: Good Main Sensor, Questionable Secondary Camera

The rear camera setup consists of:

    50MP Sony IMX852 main camera + 2MP bokeh camera.

    There’s also a 32MP front camera.

The 50MP Sony sensor is the part that matters.

In good lighting, this setup should produce detailed photos with plenty of resolution. vivo also includes modes such as Night, Portrait, Pro, Supermoon, Food and Dual View.

The front camera gets some extra attention too. vivo describes it as a 32MP wide-angle camera, which should be useful when you’re trying to squeeze several people into one selfie.

And there is a fun feature: 4K video recording on both the front and rear cameras according to vivo’s specifications.

That’s a nice feature for vloggers and people who post a lot of video.

    But I have one complaint.

That 2MP bokeh camera doesn’t add much value.

At this price, I’d rather see a more useful ultrawide camera than a low-resolution depth sensor.

Battery Life Is the V80 Lite’s Big Weapon

This is where vivo has gone all-in.

    The V80 Lite 5G packs a 7,050mAh battery.

    Read that number again.

That’s much larger than what you’ll find in many conventional mid-range phones. vivo says its laboratory testing produced up to 22.4 hours of video playback and 22 hours of TikTok playback. Vivo

Real-world results will obviously depend on brightness, mobile signal, gaming and apps.

Still, battery life should be one of the phone’s biggest strengths.

You also get 44W FlashCharge. It’s not the fastest charging system around, but the large battery changes the equation. You don’t necessarily need to charge the phone every night.

There’s also bypass charging for supported scenarios, which can be useful during gaming.

One detail worth remembering: the 7,050mAh figure is the typical capacity. vivo lists the rated capacity as 6,850mAh.

IP68 and IP69 Protection Is a Big Plus

This is something I really like seeing at this price.

The V80 Lite 5G carries IP68 and IP69 ratings under vivo’s stated laboratory conditions.

That means much better protection against dust and water than you’d normally expect from a phone focused on style and battery life.

Just don’t interpret this as permission to go swimming with it.

vivo specifically warns that water resistance can decrease with everyday use and that liquid damage isn’t covered by warranty.

    OriginOS 6 and Android 16

The phone ships with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 in Pakistan.

One of the more interesting features is Origin Island, which provides quick information and contextual interactions around system activities.

The software is fairly feature-rich, so if you prefer a very clean Android experience, you may need some time to customize it.

On the other hand, vivo has clearly put effort into making the software more visually distinctive.

What I Like About the vivo V80 Lite 5G

    • 7,050mAh battery is the standout feature.
    • 6.83-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED looks excellent on paper.
    • Curved display gives it a more premium feel.
    • IP68/IP69 protection is excellent.
    • Dimensity 7360-Turbo should handle everyday use comfortably.
    • 50MP Sony main camera is much more useful than the typical low-end main sensor.
    • 32MP front camera with 4K video support is appealing for creators.
    • UFS 3.1 storage is a nice touch.

    What I Don’t Like

    • Only 8GB RAM across the listed Pakistan variants.
    • No microSD expansion.
    • No NFC on the Pakistan specification.
    • USB is only USB 2.0.
    • 44W charging is respectable, but not class-leading.
    • The 2MP bokeh camera feels unnecessary.
    • The 256GB model costs a lot more than the 128GB version.
    • The phone is large despite its relatively low weight.

Is the vivo V80 Lite 5G Worth Buying?

Yes, but only if you value the right things.

If your priorities are battery life, display quality, design and durability, the V80 Lite 5G makes a lot of sense.

The 7,050mAh battery is a major selling point. The curved 120Hz AMOLED is another. Add IP68/IP69 protection and you get a phone that feels unusually well-equipped for everyday use.

But if you’re spending around Rs. 125,000 or more, you should look closely at the competition.

The camera system isn’t particularly versatile. The chipset is good rather than exceptional. And features such as NFC and expandable storage are missing.

    My verdict

    The vivo V80 Lite 5G is a battery-first smartphone wrapped in a premium-looking body.

    That’s its identity.

I wouldn’t call it the best value phone in its price range without comparing it against the current alternatives. But if you want a huge battery, beautiful curved AMOLED screen, reliable everyday performance and strong water/dust protection, the V80 Lite 5G deserves a place on your shortlist.

Just don’t buy it purely because the spec sheet looks impressive.
