Vivo Y500 Pro Review: 200MP Camera, 7000mAh Battery and a Surprisingly Slim Design
The vivo Y500 Pro is one of those phones that looks like a typical mid-range Android handset on paper—until you start reading the spec sheet.
A 200MP main camera, 7000mAh battery, 90W charging, a 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display, IP68/IP69 protection and a relatively slim 7.81mm body make this phone unusually ambitious for the Y series.
And yes, the Y500 Pro is a real, officially launched phone—not just a rumor. vivo launched it in China on November 10, 2025, with sales beginning November 14.
The bigger question is simple: does the Y500 Pro actually deliver, or is vivo throwing big numbers at a mid-range phone?

Design: Thin for a 7000mAh Phone
This is probably the first thing I’d notice with the Y500 Pro.
A 7000mAh battery inside a 7.81mm phone weighing about 198.6g is a pretty impressive bit of engineering. vivo has also gone with a glass back and a metal camera module on the Chinese model.
The phone comes in four colors:
- Gold
- Light Green
- Soft Pink
- Titanium Black
The design has a more expensive look than I’d expect from a typical Y-series phone.
The catch? A large battery doesn’t magically disappear. This is still a fairly large phone, and people with smaller hands may find one-handed use uncomfortable.
Display: One of the Y500 Pro’s Strongest Features
The Y500 Pro gets a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a sharp 1260 × 2800 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. vivo also claims a 94.17% screen-to-body ratio.
That’s a good combination for everyday use.
Scrolling through social media feels smoother at 120Hz, while the higher resolution should make text, photos and video look noticeably crisp.
The panel also supports HDR and the P3 wide color gamut.
This is not an area where vivo seems to have cut corners.
Performance: Dimensity 7400 Does the Heavy Lifting
Under the hood is MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400, built on a 4nm process.
The chip has four Cortex-A78 cores running at up to 2.6GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz, paired with Mali-G615 graphics.
For everyday work, this is more than enough.
Apps, messaging, browsing, video streaming and multitasking should be smooth. Gaming is also within its comfort zone, although this isn’t a phone I’d buy primarily for maximum graphics performance.
That’s the important distinction.
The Y500 Pro is built as an all-rounder. If your priority is sustained high-end gaming, there are more performance-focused phones in this price class.
200MP Camera: The Headline Feature
Here’s where things get interesting.
The Y500 Pro uses a 200MP primary camera with OIS, paired with a 2MP depth/blur camera. The front camera is 32MP.
The sensor supports autofocus and up to 30x digital zoom, while video recording goes up to 4K.
But don’t make the classic mistake of assuming 200MP automatically means flagship-level photos.
Megapixels are only part of the story.
In good daylight, the high-resolution sensor can give you plenty of detail and room to crop. OIS should also help with handheld shots and low-light stability.
The more questionable part is the camera setup around it.
There is no dedicated ultrawide camera. And a 2MP secondary sensor isn’t exactly exciting.
So while the main camera looks impressive on the spec sheet, the overall camera system isn’t as versatile as phones that offer proper ultrawide and telephoto hardware.
7000mAh Battery: This Is the Big One
If there’s one specification that immediately gets my attention, it’s the battery.
The Y500 Pro packs a 7000mAh battery and supports 90W wired charging. It also supports reverse wired charging.
That’s a serious combination.
For a normal user, I’d expect battery life to be one of the phone’s biggest selling points. If you’re constantly watching YouTube, using 5G, taking photos or gaming, having that much battery capacity gives you a lot more breathing room.
And 90W charging means you’re not stuck waiting forever when the battery eventually runs low.
There is one thing I’d watch for: fast charging can produce noticeable heat, especially when the battery is large and you’re charging at high power. Real-world thermal behavior matters more than the charging number printed on the box.
Durability Is a Big Deal
vivo has also pushed durability quite hard with the Y500 Pro.
The phone carries IP68 and IP69 protection, meaning it is designed to handle dust and serious water exposure. vivo also highlights testing for harsh environmental conditions.
That’s excellent to see on a phone that isn’t positioned as a rugged device.
Still, I’d treat an IP rating as protection, not an invitation to take underwater photos every day. Water resistance can also weaken after drops, repairs or normal wear.
OriginOS 6
The Y500 Pro launched with OriginOS 6, based on Android.
vivo says the phone is designed to maintain smooth operation over a long period and claims up to 60 months of sustained smoothness under its own testing and software standards.
There are also AI-related features, NFC, an infrared remote, dual-frequency positioning and other software extras.
The biggest question for international buyers isn’t the feature list.
It’s software availability and regional support.
The official Y500 Pro specifications currently documented by vivo are for the Chinese V2516A model, so buyers outside China should check the exact regional variant before importing one.
Vivo Y500 Pro Price
In China, the official launch prices were:
- 8GB + 128GB: ¥1,799
- 8GB + 256GB: ¥1,999
- 12GB + 256GB: ¥2,299
- 12GB + 512GB: ¥2,599
Those are vivo’s official Chinese prices.
What about Pakistan?
This is where things get messy.
As of September 2026, I would not treat the widely circulating Pakistan prices as official vivo Pakistan pricing. Third-party sites currently list figures ranging from roughly Rs. 71,549 to Rs. 99,999+, while some still describe the phone as not officially launched in Pakistan.
That’s a huge difference.
So if you’re searching for Vivo Y500 Pro price in Pakistan, don’t rely on one random listing. Check the warranty, PTA status and exact storage variant before handing over your money.
Also note that vivo Pakistan currently officially sells the regular Y500, not the Y500 Pro, through its Pakistan store.
Vivo Y500 Pro: Pros and Cons
What I Like
- 7000mAh battery is excellent for heavy users.
- 90W charging makes the huge battery more practical.
- 200MP OIS main camera is the headline feature.
- Sharp 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display.
- Relatively slim 7.81mm body for a 7000mAh phone.
- IP68 + IP69 protection.
- 5G support on the official Chinese model.
- Up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.
- NFC and IR blaster are useful extras.
What I Don’t Like
- The 2MP secondary camera feels like an afterthought.
- No proper ultrawide camera.
- Dimensity 7400 isn’t a gaming monster.
- USB-C is only USB 2.0.
- International availability is still an important question.
- Pakistan pricing is inconsistent across third-party sellers.
- The biggest advertised camera number doesn’t necessarily translate to flagship-level photography.
Is Vivo Y500 Pro Worth Buying?
Yes, if battery life, display quality and the main camera are your priorities.
The Y500 Pro has a very appealing formula: a big 7000mAh battery, fast charging, a sharp AMOLED screen and a 200MP OIS camera wrapped in a relatively slim body.
But I wouldn’t call it a camera flagship.

The lack of a proper ultrawide camera is hard to ignore, and the Dimensity 7400 puts the phone firmly in the upper-mid-range performance category rather than the flagship class.
My verdict
Vivo Y500 Pro — 8/10
The Y500 Pro is a phone built around the things most people actually notice every day: battery life, screen quality, charging speed, durability and a capable main camera.
The 200MP camera is nice. The 7000mAh battery is arguably more important.
If vivo brings the Y500 Pro to Pakistan at an aggressive official price, this could be one of the more interesting battery-focused phones in its segment. But if imported units become overpriced, I’d look at the alternatives before buying.
